General Contractor Golden, CO
Golden’s housing stock is one of the most varied in the metro area. Downtown and South Golden have homes from the early 1900s through the 1960s — character-rich, but requiring careful structural assessment before any renovation begins. Lookout Mountain and the surrounding hillside neighborhoods have newer construction with their own set of site-specific challenges. Arch Design & Build is a licensed general contractor and design-build firm serving Golden and the surrounding Jefferson County area
What We Build
From single-room remodels to full home renovations and additions. Every project starts with a free in-home consultation and ends with a fixed-price contract
How We Work
1
Free In-Home Consultation
We visit the property, look at the actual structure, and give you honest answers. Older Golden homes near downtown require a different conversation than a hillside build — we’ve had both many times
2
Design
Full architectural drawings for your project. Once you sign a contract, we build a VR walkthrough so you see the finished result before construction starts
3
Permitting
We manage every application, engineering stamp, and inspection through the City of Golden Building Division. Start to finish
4
Construction
Our crews. Our schedule. One fixed price. Single point of contact through final walkthrough
Licensed, Bonded, and Insured in Colorado
We carry general liability insurance — which means if something goes wrong on your property during the project, you’re covered. We provide our license number and certificate of insurance before you sign anything
Why Arch Design & Build
Most contractors build what someone else designed. You're the go-between for the architect and the builder — and when something doesn't line up, it's your problem. We work differently. Architect, structural engineer, and construction team under one roof and one contract. The design is built to be constructed, not handed off. That eliminates the most common failure points in residential renovation: miscommunication, scope gaps, and budget surprises
In-house structural engineering — no third-party delays on permits
VR previews before construction starts
Daily on-site crews
One team, one contract, one fixed price
Licensed, bonded, and insured in Colorado
Where We Work in Golden

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I verify a contractor is licensed in Colorado?
Through the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA). We provide our license number upfront — before you commit to anything.
What's the difference between a general contractor and a design-build firm?
A GC builds what someone else designed. A design-build firm does both under one contract. Your architect and builder are the same team — the design is always buildable and the budget is set before construction begins.
Do you work on older historic homes in Golden?
Yes. Older Golden homes require more careful structural assessment upfront — original framing, knob-and-tube wiring, and galvanized plumbing are all common. We look for all of it on the first visit and factor it into the scope before design begins.
How do I get an accurate quote?
We come to you. Free in-home assessment, no obligation. We look at the actual space and give you a fixed number.
